Make sense of every feature.

Guides for setting up and running your server, plus a reference for commands, settings, placeholders, and Discord formatting.

Getting started

From invite to a working server in a few minutes.

The first time you open a server's Home, Ceceli walks you through four steps. Nothing is changed until you say so, and you can stop and come back: progress is worked out from what has actually been done.

Check Ceceli's permissions on Health and status. She can only give out roles that sit below her own, and each feature needs the Discord permissions listed there. Every problem comes with the fix.

If you already have channels and roles, use Scan my server. Ceceli suggests how her settings should use them, shows what she saw and why, and you accept only the suggestions you want.

If you are starting fresh, open the Setup wizard. It asks what the server is called, what kind of server it is, how it should sound and how it should look, then shows a full preview before anything is built. Existing channels and roles are reused, and a setup can be undone from Backups.

Coming from another bot? Scan my server brings over levels, role menus and custom commands, and can remove the bot it replaced.

Every setting in the dashboard is also reachable with /config.

The setup wizard

Templates, features, decoration, resets and previews.

Four short steps: what the server is called and about, what kind of server it is, the voice Ceceli writes in, and the look. Ceceli writes the welcome post, rules intro, level-ups, ticket and verification panels and goodbyes in the voice you choose.

Then a review: your answers, a list of exactly what will be created or reused, and a live preview of the channel list. Nothing is created until you press Build, and you can jump back to any step from the numbers at the top.

Your answers are saved in your browser while the wizard is unfinished, so a refresh or a closed tab loses nothing. Skip to the review at any point to accept the suggestions for the rest.

Every new text channel gets a topic, and most get a short guide that Ceceli posts and pins, saying what the channel is for and how to use it. A few starter custom commands such as !rules point at the new channels.

Rules come from templates (Standard, Relaxed, Strict, Gaming, Study, Creator, Professional, Support) that you can edit line by line.

Make it a Discord Community turns on Community mode, sets the rules and updates channels, and builds onboarding questions from your channels and ping roles. Discord needs at least 7 default channels everyone can see for onboarding; Ceceli reports it if your layout does not have enough.

Earlier setups, and the button to undo one, are on the Backups page.

Templates choose sensible defaults; features add roles, channels and the matching Ceceli settings.

Decoration styles add separators and emoji to channel and category names (for example the pipe style gives 💬┊general). Divider roles such as ┊━ Staff ━┊ keep the role list readable.

Staff, admin and log categories are always placed at the bottom of the server.

Reset removes the channels and roles that exist now and replaces them. A backup is taken first, and you must type the server name to confirm. Members, XP, cases and Ceceli's data are untouched. Discord blocks deleting channels it requires for Community servers; those are reported and left in place.

Moderation, automod and regex

Actions, edge cases and safe pattern matching.

Moderation actions refuse yourself, the owner, Ceceli, protected members and roles, and anyone at or above your highest role.

The mass action limit pauses a moderator who tries too many bans, kicks or timeouts in a short window. Owners are exempt.

Automod switched on by hand starts in test mode: matches are logged but nothing is enforced, until you switch test mode off. The setup wizard switches it on live.

Regex rules accept a bare pattern or /pattern/flags. Ceceli rejects patterns that nest repetition such as (a+)+, back-references and anything over 200 characters. Text is normalised first so lookalike and zero-width tricks still match.

Use /regex test or the tester on the Automod page before enabling a pattern.

Verification

Button, code or question, plus account age and auto-kick.

Members without the verified role only see the start area. They press Verify to unlock the server.

Button mode is one click. Code mode shows a short code to type back. Question mode asks something from your rules.

This raises the bar against simple raid bots. It is not a CAPTCHA and does not prove someone is a person.

Optional: require a minimum account age and remove people who never verify in time.

Leveling

Message and voice XP, stacking modifiers and role rewards.

Messages earn a random amount between your minimum and maximum, once per cooldown.

XP in voice (premium) earns per minute while at least two people are present and the member is not muted or deafened.

XP modifiers (premium) stack: +50% on one role and +25% on another is x1.75. A negative percent slows XP and -100% earns nothing.

Rewards give roles at levels. Turn off stacking to keep only the highest one. Reward roles are not limited on any plan.

Level-ups and /rank can attach a drawn card with the member's avatar, level and progress.

Message variables

Placeholders you can use in messages.

Click a variable under a text field to insert it where your cursor is.

  • {user} mentions the member
  • {name} the member's display name (their nickname in this server if they have one)
  • {username} their unique @username
  • {server} the server name
  • {count} the member count
  • {level} the level reached (level-up message)

Custom branding

Make Ceceli feel like your own bot.

Custom branding is a premium feature. It changes Ceceli's nickname, avatar, banner and bio inside this server, and applies your accent colour and footer text to the cards and images she posts.

Saving the page applies it. Ceceli then reports what took and what did not: for example, an avatar link that does not lead to an image is refused while the nickname still changes. Clearing a field puts Ceceli's own back.

Image links must be public https addresses that lead directly to a PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP file up to 8 MB. Discord limits how often a bot's avatar can change, so a second change within a few minutes may be refused.

Discord applies the avatar and banner only to this server. Ceceli is still one application; a separate bot with its own token is not part of this.

If a server stops being premium, its branding settings are kept and Ceceli goes back to her own name and colours until it is premium again.

Make it a Quote

Turn a message into an image.

Right click a message, choose Apps, then Make it a Quote. The buttons underneath switch between dark, light and your server's colour, and between two layouts: Portrait (the avatar fills one side) and Card (a small avatar above the words).

The quotes page in the dashboard shows a live preview with short, medium and long samples. It is drawn by the same code the bot uses, so what you see is what members get.

Long messages are fitted by shrinking the text, then shortened with an ellipsis. Formatting marks, spoilers and custom emoji are turned into plain text.

Names and text come from the real message, so quotes cannot be invented. Only the person who made a quote, or a moderator, can restyle it.

Honest limits

What Ceceli cannot do.

Backups cover roles, channels, overwrites, emoji, stickers and Ceceli's settings. Discord does not let bots save message history.

Premium is not on sale yet. Until it is, a server only becomes premium when Ceceli's team grants it.

Other bots do not let Ceceli read their settings. Moving from another bot works from what you paste or upload, and from what Ceceli can see those bots doing in your channels.

Twitch alerts need Twitch API credentials, which are not set up. YouTube, Reddit, GitHub and RSS work today.

Discord limits channel renames, so stat channels refresh every 10 minutes.

Finding your way around

The header, sidebar, search and Home.

The header has the server switcher, search (Ctrl or Cmd and K), the accent colour palette, light and dark mode, and your account menu.

Search understands what you want, not only page names: try "anti raid", "youtube alerts" or "level roles". Small typos are fine.

The sidebar groups pages by job: Overview, Community, Engage, Moderation, Tools, Analytics and Settings. An entry such as Moderation or Levels covers several pages, shown as tabs across the top: the settings, the list that goes with them, and close relatives.

A small crown marks premium features. They stay visible so you can see what they do.

Home shows anything that needs attention, with a button that goes straight to the fix, and a card for each area.

Every settings page saves with the bar at the bottom. Ceceli uses the new settings within seconds, with no restart.

Vibes, naming styles and emoji themes

Make the server look like yours.

A look sets role colours: Classic, Pastel, Neon, Strong, Earthy, Monochrome, Sunset, Aurora or Bubblegum. It also suggests a naming style.

Under Colours and gradients you can repaint any role group on its own: one colour, a ladder that steps from one colour to another down the group, or a gradient on every role. Gradients show on servers where Discord allows them and fall back to the first colour elsewhere.

Emoji has four modes: each item its own, one per category, a small set (choose 1 to 8 emoji, or pick your own), or none. No emoji keeps the separators of the style and drops the picture.

Naming styles decorate channels, categories and (optionally) role names. There are twenty, from plain to pipe, sparkle dust, gothic and music.

Emoji themes give every channel and role a matching emoji: Classic, Soft pink, Dark, Spooky, Nature, Space, Gaming, Cozy, Ocean, Royal, Snacks or Minimal. Nothing is random: the same choices always give the same server.

You can rename any role, category or channel, recolour roles with the colour picker, set one emoji for a whole category or role group, set a single item to no emoji, and rewrite the rules.

Stat channels go at the very top, then the start area, your community channels, voice, support, and finally staff and logs at the bottom. Inside each category, text channels come before voice and the important ones (welcome, rules, verify) come first.

Raid and scam shield

Join floods, scam links and hijacked accounts.

Shield switched on by hand starts in test mode: it logs what it would do, so you can check it against real traffic before it acts. The setup wizard switches it on live.

Raid protection fires when many accounts join in a short time. It can lock the server (verification level raised and invites paused, both restored afterwards) and then act on the young or risky accounts in the burst: alert, timeout, kick or ban. Use /shield lockdown and /shield lift by hand.

Scam protection catches look-alike links (such as dlscord.gift), free Nitro and wallet bait, links and mention floods from brand-new members, and the same message sent into several channels, which is how hijacked accounts spread.

Ceceli keeps an internal cross-server record of bans, scam hits and linked accounts. Your staff only see an anonymous risk band, never another server's name or reasons. Switch off Contribute to Ceceli's anonymous risk score to stop this server adding to it.

Add your own blocked domains, and allow-list sites you trust, in the Shield settings.

Server recovery

Move your members if the server is deleted or taken over.

Every backup keeps the list of member IDs Ceceli saw. With recovery switched on, Ceceli also keeps a fresh list at least once a day.

If Ceceli loses the server, or you start it yourself from Backups, she sends each person one message with your new invite. Nobody is messaged twice.

Ceceli sets the pace herself; there is no speed setting. She sends in batches, starting with a small one and growing while Discord stays quiet, up to 500 people in any five seconds. That is a ceiling, not a promise: Discord's own limits decide the real speed, and it is usually much slower.

The moment Discord pushes back, the batch stops and whoever was not messaged goes back in the queue. A rate limit rests the campaign for a minute, then ten, then an hour; after that, or if Discord says messages are being opened too fast or flags them as spam, the campaign stops and waits for you to resume it.

An automatic start waits 15 minutes first. You can pause, resume or cancel from the Backups page, or from Account settings if the server no longer exists. If the bot restarts mid-campaign it carries on from where it was, without messaging anyone a second time.

Only use this for a real move. Discord treats mass direct messages as a spam signal, so keep the wording short and honest.

Reports

Let members flag problems to staff.

Members use /report or right click a message, Apps, Report message. Staff get a card in the reports channel showing the member's history.

Buttons on the card claim the report, warn, time out for an hour, ban, or dismiss. Every action makes a case and respects protected members and roles.

Turn on Hide reporter to keep the reporter's name off the card. The reporter can be told the outcome without naming the moderator.

Web verification and alt detection

Stop banned people coming back on new accounts.

Set Verification to On Ceceli's website. Members press Verify, sign in with Discord on Ceceli's site, and get the verified role.

Ceceli keeps one-way fingerprints of the network and browser each member verifies from. They are keyed hashes, so the original address cannot be recovered. They are deleted after the retention period you choose.

When a new member matches someone in the server, staff are told. With Block, a member who matches a banned account is kept out.

With automatic alt bans on, banning someone also bans accounts that verified from the same address. Leave this off unless you need it: families, schools, mobile carriers and VPNs share addresses.

Add your site's /api/auth/callback address as a redirect in the Discord developer portal (the same one the dashboard uses).

Stat channels

Live counters Ceceli owns.

Choose which counters to show: members, humans, bots, boosts, online and channels. Each can be a voice channel, a text channel or a category name.

Ceceli creates them in a locked category at the top, recreates them if someone deletes them, and removes them when you switch a counter off.

Discord allows two renames per channel every ten minutes, so numbers refresh every ten minutes. The online count needs the Presence intent.

Custom invite link

A short link to your server on Ceceli's domain.

Pick a link name and a landing channel, save, then press Create the Discord invite. Your link looks like ceceli.xyz/invite=yourname.

With the landing card on, people see your server's icon, name, member count and tagline before joining. Turn it off to send them straight to Discord.

Each link name belongs to one server.

Pickers and editors

Channels, colours, emoji and message cards.

Channel pickers can create a channel for you: type a name and choose Create, or use the field at the bottom of the list.

The colour picker has a hue ring and a triangle for saturation and brightness, RGB and HSV sliders, and copies or pastes HEX, RGB, HSL, HSV and Discord's number format.

Emoji pickers show your server's own emoji first. Emoji are always saved as shorthand like :star:, so they keep working if you rename things.

Message cards are edited with fields and a live preview. Click a {placeholder} chip to insert it where your cursor is.

Your account and appearance

Theme, accent, glass, text size and more.

Open Account settings from the menu under your avatar. Appearance is saved to your account, so it follows you to other devices.

Choose light, dark or system, any accent colour, how see-through the glass is, how round the corners are, text size, density, motion and the cursor light.

Connections to YouTube, Twitch, GitHub and others are being prepared and are not active yet.

You can download your account data or delete it. Server settings and moderation records belong to each server and are kept.

Role connections

Roles that follow from other roles.

A connection says: members hold these roles when these conditions are true. The classic one is a Staff role for anyone who has Trial Moderator, Moderator or Admin, so channels only need to allow Staff.

Build it from blocks under Roles and perks, Role connections. Choose the roles, choose whether any one or every one of the conditions must be true, then add conditions. A condition can be has a role, does not have a role, is boosting, has been a member for so many days, account age, or is a bot. A group holds conditions of its own with its own any or every.

Three behaviours: Give and take away keeps the role exactly in step; Only give never removes it; Take away removes the role while the conditions are true.

Connections act when a member's roles change. For members who are already here, press Check what would change, read the numbers, then Apply to everyone.

Ceceli can only manage roles below her own. Two connections that undo each other are detected: nothing is changed for that member and a line is written to Change history.

The free plan includes 5 connections, premium 100.

Commands without the slash

Mention Ceceli or type !ceceli.

Every slash command also works as a message. Start with a mention of Ceceli, or with the word set under Custom commands, Text commands (it starts as !ceceli).

Options go in order, or by name: `!ceceli ban @someone spamming links` or `!ceceli timeout @someone minutes:30 reason:be nice`. The last text option takes the rest of the line, so a reason needs no quotes.

The command's permission is checked the same way. A command that would answer privately (case lists, staff notes, settings) sends the answer by direct message and ticks your message, so nothing private lands in a public channel.

Commands that open a form still need the slash version, and Ceceli says so.

Auto-purge, timed roles and voice-role links

Keeping channels tidy, and two premium role services.

Auto-purge (Automod, Auto-purge) removes messages from chosen channels once they are older than a time you set, from five minutes to a year. For each channel you choose whose messages (everyone, bots, people), which kind (all, with files, with links, with cards, plain text), an optional phrase they must contain, roles whose messages are never touched, how many of the newest messages always stay, and whether pins are kept. The free plan cleans one channel and premium twenty. Ceceli looks every minute at channels with a time under half an hour and every five minutes at the rest, and clears up to 100 messages per channel each time.

Timed reaction roles: when you add a role panel, set Take the role away again after. A member who takes a role from that panel loses it when the time is up; handing the role back early stops the clock.

Voice-role links (Roles and perks) give a role while a member is in a voice channel, or in any voice channel, and take it off when they leave. Use it to show a text channel only to people in the call.

On the free plan these settings are kept but do nothing.

Plans, premium and limits

What is free, what premium adds, and how limits work.

Premium applies to one server at a time, and everyone who manages that server shares it. The person it was bought for holds it as a slot: on their account page they can move it to another of their servers, and if the server is deleted, or Ceceli is removed from it, the slot comes back to them with the time it had left.

Premium is coming soon and cannot be bought yet. Nothing in Ceceli asks for payment details.

Premium adds custom branding, server statistics, connected servers, XP in voice, XP modifiers, sticky messages, a custom invite link (on Ceceli's domain or your own), timed reaction roles and voice-role links, and raises the limits below. Premium servers are also served first: their dashboard requests, backups and scheduled work go to the front of the queue.

Level reward roles, roles given on join and stat channels are not limited on any plan.

Moderation, automod, the raid shield, the honeypot, verification, reports, logging, appeals and recovery are never limited on any plan.

Plan and billing (under Settings, Advanced) shows live usage against every limit. The same numbers are enforced whether something is added from the dashboard, a slash command, an import or an AI assistant.

If a server stops being premium nothing is deleted. Premium features stop applying, and nothing new can be added past the free limits until you are back under them. /premium shows the same in Discord.

  • Backups: 1 slot free (a new backup replaces the old one, only after the new one is saved and checked), 25 with premium
  • Temporary voice setups: 1 free, 20 with premium. A setup is the channel that creates rooms; the rooms themselves are never limited
  • Reaction role messages: 5 free, 1000 with premium. One is a message members pick roles from, however many roles it offers. Each holds up to 20 roles free and 200 with premium; Discord fits 25 buttons or 20 reactions on a message, so a longer one continues on the next message and still counts as one
  • Auto-purge channels: 1 free, 20 with premium
  • Connected servers work only while both servers have premium of their own. Connecting a server never shares the other server's premium with it
  • Custom commands: 50 free, 300 with premium
  • Automations: 10 free, 100 with premium
  • Role connections: 5 free, 100 with premium
  • Scheduled announcements 5, event notifications 3, open polls 5, running giveaways 2, settings snapshots 3 and AI connections 1 on the free plan

Scan my server

Suggestions from the channels and roles you already have.

Ceceli reads the names, types and permissions of your channels and roles. She does not read messages or the member list.

Each suggestion shows what she saw (a fact), what she concluded from it, and how sure she is: Certain when Discord states it directly, Likely when it is read from a name, A guess when she is unsure.

Open a suggestion to see the exact settings that would change. Tick the ones you want and apply them. Only Ceceli's own settings change: no channel or role is created, renamed or deleted.

A suggestion that would replace a choice you already made is not applied unless you tick the extra box that allows it.

Features that could clash with another bot, such as verification, tickets and join-to-create voice, are pointed at your channels but not switched on for you.

The scan also lists other bots it recognises and what they do that Ceceli also does. When the same feature is on in two bots, members get everything twice.

Moving from another bot

Bring over levels, role menus, commands and messages.

Other bots do not offer a way for Ceceli to read their settings, and Ceceli never asks for another bot's login or token. An import is built from what you hand over, and from what is visible in your server.

MEE6: with your leaderboard set to public, open mee6.xyz/api/plugins/levels/leaderboard/ followed by your server ID in your browser, copy everything and paste it. Each member keeps their level and their progress towards the next one, and reward roles come with it.

Anything a bot visibly does: press Scan my server. Ceceli reads recent messages in up to thirty channels and works out what your other bots are doing (welcomes, level-ups, logs, role menus, custom commands, sticky messages) and where your rules are. Each becomes an item to tick. She only reads; the old bot's messages are left alone, and nothing changes until you import.

Custom commands: paste them one per line as !name = reply. Commands that rely on the other bot's scripting are flagged, because Ceceli's commands are plain replies.

Embeds: most embed builders can export JSON. Paste it and it becomes your welcome card.

Anything else: use Ceceli's import format, shown on the page. It covers welcome, levels, XP, commands, reaction roles, auto roles, blocked words and log channels.

Every item is marked Ready, Check this, Already exists or Cannot import, with the reason. Nothing is applied until you tick items and confirm, and afterwards you see what happened to each one.

Placeholders are converted for you: {user}, {server}, {level} and their equivalents in other bots become Ceceli's. Members who already have more XP in Ceceli keep it.

AI access (MCP)

Let an AI assistant manage the server through Ceceli.

Ceceli speaks the Model Context Protocol, which Claude, Cursor, VS Code and other assistants understand. Create an access key under Tools, AI access, add Ceceli to your assistant with the address and key shown there, and ask it in plain words.

A key belongs to one server and to the person who made it. It is shown once and stored only as a fingerprint. It stops working if you lose Manage Server, when it expires, or when you revoke it.

Reading is unrestricted: settings, channels, roles, health, history, a server scan.

Small changes apply at once and are recorded in Change history, where they can be undone: ordinary settings, a new channel or role, a new custom command.

Anything risky always waits for you: deleting a channel, role or command, restoring a backup, posting a message, locking the server, and changing moderation, automod, shield, honeypot, verification or recovery settings. The assistant gets an approval ID and must ask you to approve it in the dashboard.

An approval covers one action, exactly as described, for 15 minutes. It cannot be reused or pointed at something else, the assistant cannot approve it for you, and if the channel, role or settings changed after you approved, the action is cancelled instead of run.

Roles an assistant creates never carry permissions, messages it posts never ping anyone, and it is limited to 60 calls a minute. Plan limits apply exactly as they do in the dashboard.

Health and status

Is Ceceli online, and can she do what you asked?

The top of the page shows whether the bot is online, whether saved settings have been picked up, anything still waiting, and anything that failed in the last day.

The health check runs inside your server. It checks the Discord permissions each switched-on feature needs, that every role Ceceli hands out sits below her own, and that every channel and role in your settings still exists and is reachable.

Each problem says how to fix it. Fix it in Discord, then press Check again.

It reports what Ceceli can observe. It cannot see an outage on Discord's side, and when the bot is offline it says the server has not been checked rather than that everything is fine.

Change history, undo and snapshots

See what changed, who changed it, and put it back.

Change history lists everything changed through Ceceli: by whom, when, and through what (the dashboard, a command, an import, an AI assistant or Ceceli herself). Filter by any of those.

A settings change opens to show exactly which settings moved, before and after. Passwords and keys are never recorded.

Undo puts a page back to how it was before that change. It is only offered while the page has not been changed again since, because undoing an older change would also discard the newer ones.

A settings snapshot is a named copy of all of Ceceli's settings. Compare one with the settings now, then restore only the pages you tick. Snapshots do not include roles or channels; backups do, and have their own slots.

Placeholders

Use these inside messages. Under any message box, click a chip to insert one.

  • {user}Mention the member
  • {name}The member's display name
  • {username}Their unique @username
  • {server}Server name
  • {count}Member count
